Request Burial or Family-History Information

New Forest Cemetery is working to improve access to burial records and the family stories connected to these grounds. If you are searching for a loved one, an ancestor, a veteran, or a family connection, we welcome your request.

What to include in your request

• The person’s full name and any alternate spellings
• An approximate year of death or burial
• Known relatives or family connections
• A plot, section, church, funeral home, or military detail, if known
• Your name, contact information, and preferred way to receive a response

How to request help

Use the inquiry form on the home page and choose “Burial record or family history,” or email nfc1886@gmail.com. Please do not send Social Security numbers or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Historical records may be incomplete, difficult to read, or still being organized. Submitting a request does not guarantee that a record can be located, and response times may vary.

Help preserve the record

Families and community members can also help by sharing photographs, obituaries, funeral programs, military records, church histories, or family stories connected to New Forest. Every verified contribution helps restore a fuller picture of Utica’s community history.
